Solved GPU for dual screens, $50 budget

November 2, 2011 at 06:51:41
Specs: Windows Vista, AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+ 2.2GHz / 2 gigs
APPROXIMATE PURCHASE DATE: within a week

BUDGET RANGE: ~$50

USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT: web browsing, watching movies

CURRENT GPU AND POWER SUPPLY: Integrated NVIDIA GeForce 6100 graphics & 300 watt

OTHER RELEVANT SYSTEM SPECS: http://support.gateway.com/emachine...

MONITOR RESOLUTION: My current monitor is 1440x900 and I'm adding 1280x1024 monitor.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: I'm planning on setting up dual monitors. I need an extra VGA output for the new monitor. I would be great if I could get an performance upgrade under my budget, though the whole purpose is to have an extra VGA output. I'm a beginner and I absolutely have no idea which graphic cards will do the job.

Keep watching sales at your favorite place.

1/3 of highway deaths are caused by drunks. The rest are by people who can't drive any better than a drunk.

Thanks for the replies, guys!
The PNY GT 240 seems pretty nice. It really fits my needs. And the price is hard to beat! It seems like Newegg is having a sale this week, hopefully it gets discounted even more!
