My "Capitan's" navigation software can only talk to RS-232 COM port. My laptop only has USB ports. My GPS device is USB. Is there a driver that will make my software think it's talking to RS-232 so that my GPS will shake hands with my navigation software?

You can get a usb to serial (rs-232) adapter.

How old is your Captain software?

Most nav software like VNS and others can use a usb input.

We were the unwilling, led by the unqualified, to do the unnecessary, for the ungrateful.
