An account does not block access to a computer. It is the means of access. An account is a doorway into the computer and the password is the key. If the account were somehow deleted that door would no longer exist and you would need to find another.

I would be suspicious of any computer sold without all necessary passwords. Sorry, can't help with passwords.

You can try safe mode from F8. The main ADMINISTRATOR account should show. It's usually separate from the account(s) created for regular users and may not be password protected. Try logging onto it. If it loads you can delete or add user accounts from CONTROL PANEL--USER ACCOUNTS.

The Goodwills out here don't sell computers anymore. Apparently several years ago they sold one that had a lot of person information still on it from the previous owner. (I guess he thought goodwill would wipe it for him.) He found out the buyer was using his information and raised a fuss with goodwill.
