i have a WD Scorpio® WD2500BEVS it works fine in my desktop and my other laptop, the problem becomes when I try to install in my Hp Compaq Cq56. The bios does not recognized it and when I use the win 7 install cd it says there is no drive and asks me to load the drivers. I do not know what to do. The weird part is, I have an OCZ 64gb SSD that I tried on it and it gets recognized. The SSD is A Sata3 and the wd scorpio is sata1,. Also I tried to look in the BIOS but it barely has any options to change, there is no SATA/IDE/ AHCI settings. BIOS name is INSYDEH20 3.5.

I would check the BIOS again. I had this identical problem with my DELL XPS laptop and it turned out there was a setting for a special data transfer protocol (I'm sorry I can't remember the name of it right now) that I had to turn off for the new drive. I'll check my bios tonight if I can remember.
