Hi everyone,
I don't know what room will fit this topic so I just post it here.
I plan to build a security surveillance cameras outside and inside the house. What company and model of CCTV cameras would you recommend me to buy? In addition, what DVR is good? I want the one with motion dection and alter notification by sending an email. I saw Costco carries many Q-see CCTV cameras. Are their cameras good? I plan to spend up to $1000 US for this surveillance camera system. Thank you very much for any advices.

You may be better off with a professional
security company. Ask one to provide a
security analysis.I find it odd that a bank robber can get
away with thousands and I can get caught
running a red light. I'd get the red light
cameras. They work better than the banks.I read it wrong and answer it wrong too. So get off my case you peanut.

Spendy digital eyes may be crime-stoppers, or are they simply security theater?

Thank you for your advices folks. However, I just want to build a normal surveillance system so that I can see what going around my house or if someone break in my house, I can see who that person is.

As was alluded to above you need more knowledge than just which cameras might be best. You need profession assistance if the system is to be any good. If this is just to make the wife feel good then install anything. Placement, lighting, etc. are all considerations.
Do you have something in your house that thieves know about and desire? Maybe you should keep whatever that is elsewhere.
IMO making your home lees attractive to would be law breakers is more valuable than knowing who did the deed after the fact.
