AFAIK XP does not fully support DX10, you need Vista !!

Bakers is correct, you need Vista to take advantage of DX10. Besides, the HD3850 AGP sells for over $200...that's more than your system is worth! Either set you sites a little lower or consider a complete rebuild.

Obviously i know i need Windows Vista to get the full DX10 Compatibility and thats what I'm trying to ask here, I didn't need you to tell me i need a new computer i wanted to know what i should be considering buying before i upgrade to Vista and you two didn't help me at all in what i asked all you did was say the obvious
and thats not what i asked so maybe you can actually give me a answer i can use other than give me an answer that is COMPLETELY useless to me, Oh i am not doing a complete rebuild cause i do not need one. All i need is your help in telling what i should be looking for in UPDATING this computer and no other,
i do not need a top of the line computer to run the games that are currently being released i know i wont be able to run them at top quality but i don't care i am not all about graphics just about playing the game, so if anyone can give me a straight USEFUL answer that would be very well appreciated thanks, MayDai

You don't have to be an a$$.

1st, you didn't state that you planned to "upgrade" to Vista. 2nd, spending $200+ on an AGP card for a system that's barely worth $200 would be very unsmart. 3rd, if you'd bother to check the link I included in my other response, you'd find the best AGP cards for the money.

Consider this: for less than the $200+ you'd be spending on the HD3850 AGP, you could buy an A64 X2 dual-core CPU & a motherboard based on the AMD 780G chipset. The integrated graphics on that board supports DX10 & is actually a step up from your 6600. And DDR2-800 RAM is dirt cheap right now...about $15 per GB if you know where to look. Then you can sell your current board, CPU, RAM, video card & use that money to buy a PCI-e gaming card.
