Hey, I kind of been away from computers so I really dont know whats fast and whats not. So basically, is this a good deal for what it offers or not? and is it a good deal? also I see that is refurbished but it's ok with me, sort of. I will just be using it mostly for Internet and some games. I just got kind of tired of my current one. It is almost 7 years old and it just lags alot. Thanks for the feedback in advanced.

Beginning Jan 10th, Office Depot is having a 3-day only sale. One of the items is an eMachines with similar specs (A64 X2 4000+, 1GB RAM, 250GB HDD, DVD burner, Vista Home Premium) for just $250 after $100 rebate (monitor not included).

Those slimline cases are a problem. In the future if you wish to install an add in graphics card you may run into problems due to height.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Yeah I see that it will be hard to upgrade further down the line but for that price? Emachines huh, I'll take a look at that. Any further feedback is highly welcomed, thanks.

The eMachines uses standard replacement/upgrade parts, such as a video card or power supply. The same can't be said about that HP. Plus the eMachines is over $100 cheaper.

I was referring to the HP slimline computer. I didn't look at the Emachines unit.

BTW, jam's link doesn't seem to be working.

Just had a closer look. It seems that the CPU is an Athlon 64 (single core), not an X2 (dual core)?

The model number appears to be T3642 & it's listed at the Office Depot site under SKU 380415, but it's not listed at the eMachines site.
