Hey guys, I would appreciate your help.

I need a new CDROM drive for my laptop, and I need to know of a good reputable company that might have them. I looked on Newegg for it, and I couldn't find one. I have looked in every local computer store also, and they don't sale them there either. Please don't suggest buying from EBay or any other auction site because I don't like online auctions real well. You have to be quick -- too quick for me. If you have any answers, I would appreciate your input of them. Thanks!

The "Not relavent" brand is very difficult to locate. Have you tried the Not relavent website?

Hi,

I found this Sony CD Rom on Newegg in about 1 minute, or less for $16.00.

I suggest that you look again.

The manufacturer of the Laptop is the best place, quite often they are not proprietary.

I didn't think the brand name was important-- if I understood what you meant. The laptop is a Dell Latitude.

Bryco, is every site listed at price grabber a reputable company??

Just in case, I happen to have one of these that I bought for an experiment and don't need it any more. E-mail me if you would be interested in buying it.

The stores listed on Price Grabber are reputable for the most part. Look at and read the customer reviews. (Just like on ebay) Some are more reputable than others, it seems. LOL

After all is said and done, there's a whole lot more said than done.

Ok, I don't want to get into online scams like what other people have done. Smitty308, I may e-mail you in the next few days about the CDROM drive offer. I need to think about getting a new drive or a used drive. Thanks for all of the help, guys.

I would try TigerDirect. I don't know if they will have anything for your particular computer, as I have never looked at their laptop parts, and the Dell Latitude may be proprietary. TigerDirect usually has good prices, even lower that Newegg, and I use them all the time.

Thanks for the suggestion there, bmwelch. Several weeks ago out of curiosity, I typed in at Google, "TigerDirect complaints". I got a whole slew of complaints, mostly because of TigerDirect not wanting to cooperate with you when you buy something from there that's defective, and want to RMA it.
