Solved gigabyte radieon 6850 crossfire not working

Specs: Windows 7 64bit, Amd 6 core 8gb ram
gigabyte radeon 6850 crossfire not working, when i have my two (gigabyte redeon HD 6850 windforce) and open Tomb Raider 2013 pc game though steam and play single player its fine, but when i go into multiplayer and try joining a match it crashes when it loads the map but only when i have crossfire enabled, any solutions???? please help i have tried to reinstall my drivers and yes i made sure crossfire is enabled

I do not know crossfire well but I do know that it can be power hungry. Post all of your specs, especially your power supply make and model number so we can see if it is sufficient to handle your complete set up.

Another thing you can do i the mean time is install HWMonitor, launch it, do non gaming things for a while, then light gaming, then multiPlayer and look at the various temperatures, voltages, and even fan speeds and post back the results (min & max). These may also help find the problem.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

I have a
6 core amd processor
500W power supply
ASRock 890x pro 3 motherboard
8gb ddr3 ram
The power supply is fine because I can run other games but only tomb raider crashes when I'm in multiplayer, but only in crossfire, I did a power supply calculator and it said at full power my pic only used 460W of power

I said make and model for a reason.
Many cheaper power supplies (even by 'good companies') are not properly rated and the 500 Watts is deceiving. It is quite possible that the power supply you have has a high rating on the 3.3V or 5V rails but a lower rating on the 12V rail(s) which is what your high draw components like your CPU and graphics requires. It is quite possible that the power supply delivers the power initially but due to inefficiencies in it, when it warms up, it delivers less wattage when you need it under loads. It is quite possible that your power supply uses multiple 12volt rails and the total may be enough but the power is not evenly distributed to the two or three rails sets so there may be excess power available to the CPU but not to one or both graphics cards. And finally, the calculators are a general guide and may not take all into consideration and under extreme loads you are going over the listed specs or calculated specs.
Personally, I would like to see a 750Watt or 850 Watt or higher power supply on multiple graphics cards in general and some find it necessary to go higher.
It is important to look for a power supply with a single 12volt rail, 80% or higher certified efficiency rating, Active PFC, and a company confident enough in their product to give you a 3 or 5 year warranty on the product.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
