Hey,

I'm looking at getting this mobo but I've been out of the loop quite some time now hardware wise.

I'm a little confused on what ram to get for this board.

Now, I know it uses DDR2 1200/1066/800/667 MHz but I see PC5300 , PC2-6400 , PC2-8500 etc that run at the speeds above.

I'm mainly looking at PC5300 to make my son a pc for xmas so any clarification is most welcomed.

Hmm,I guess so...

That would depend on what processor you're going to use. What processor will you be using?

The optimal CPU:RAM ratio for Core 2 Duo systems is either 1:1 ot 1:2. The E7500 is a 1066MHz FSB CPU so if you have no intentions of ever overclocking, all you really need it DDR2-533 (aka PC2-4200) for 1:1. DDR2-1066 (PC2-8500) would be needed for 1:2 ratio.

I certainly have no plans in overclocking it at all.

Ok thanks for that. I will look at getting the PC2-8500.

If anyone else would like to add any info they feel may be useful. Fell free to do so.

Thanks all for replying. I knew I could rely on this place like always :)

Hmm,I guess so...
