My motherboard is a Gigabyte 8IDX with a 400MHz FSB and it only supports a max multiplier at 24X. Will it be limited at 2.4GHz (100MHz x 24)? I want to put in a 2.6 GHz Northwood with 400MHz FSB. Can anyone help? Thanks.

Now this took me less than 60 seconds to find. Google and the motherboard model number.

Getting a little lazy aren't we!

:-)

In answer to your question, you'll have to wait for bios revisions or buy a new motherboard.
