I have a gigabyte GA-8IG1000MK Rev 2.0 board and I have four sticks of samsung ram. The only problem is the default CAS settings for one pair is 2.5-3-3-8 and for the other pair it's 3-3-3-8. When I put both in, the default setting is 2.5-3-3-8. In memtest 86, test 5 and test 7 gives me about 2 to 6 errors per test and I have a feeling thats the reason my WC3 occasionally crashes.
Anyways the question is, is there any way I can change the settings with some kind of 3rd party software or any other option. Thanks in advance.

A couple of suggestions come to mind. First would be to reverse the sticks. This may cause the BIOS to see the slower RAM and time off it. I'm not familiar with your board but most BIOS settings have some advanced features which may be called different things with different brands but they allow tweaking the CAS settings to whetever you want. Is it possible you haven't burrowed far enough into the BIOS selections to find such a setting.

Test the sticks individually...if there are no errors, test the pairs individually.
Running CAS 3 RAM at 2.5 *usually* isn't a problem, but you may wanna try manually setting the timings to 3-3-3-8. Double check that the default voltages are the same too, if they're not, manually set the voltage to the higher of the pairs. I'm guessing that the CAS 3 pair are identical & the 2.5 pair are identical?

I have burrowed through my bios, no cas settings. I have tested the sticks individually, they work perfectly. I've reversed them as well, and somehow the board just switches back to 2.5 instead of 3. Any ideas?
