Specs: Windows XP
just want to write off all posabilitys before forking out cash on a monitor to find its another hardware problem!

im getting slight tranparent lines accross my monitor , allways on the lower quater of my screen, now and again i will get a few random grey lines with a few screen jumps.

heres what i have tryed so far...
1. tryed another graphic card.
2. changed power lead and wall power socket.
3. adjusted refresh rate.
4. checked no magnet or anything near monitor.

is there anything else that could be causeing this ,, like dodgy pci slot or bad memory or anything else ?

"lines seem to apear about 5 - 10 mins after i switch on"

id be greatfull for any help!

Did u try to reinstall graphic card driver? Dodgy pci slot? Do u have pci or pci-e slot? And it sounds like the monitor is saying goodbye RedFaction.

hi kuwese.

my bad, its a pci-e slot - mobo only has 1 pci-e slot so i cant rule that out. im using an ati 2600xt gfx card, yesterday i tryed an old gefore 7100 card after 10mins the lines started again, both times i used the driver cleaner tool and downloaded up-to-date drivers.

thanks m8

do u have onboard video? If yes try to connect direct to motherboard. Did u check the gpu temp?It could be the card is overheating, make sure to remove dust from graphic card. And if u have access to another system try to connect your monitor and see if the lines are there.

both cards i tryed are clean from dust, but il take ur advice and drag the monitor to a mates house, as mobo has no onboard gfx, fingers crossed this will prove the monitor is at fault..

thanks mate
