I am looking into getting then fastest PCI slot card there is.

I have been playing BattleField 2 with a G-Force FX5500 and it works fine on 800x600 at 60hz but it lags so bad I can hardly get a shot at times. I play with under 20 people and on a small map and

I dont really have a problem ecept when a guy pops in front of me it lags and I die.

I am hoping that I can get the G-Force FX5700 and it will run smoother. Will it? Or am I wasting $120.00 ?

I dont want to upgrade my motherboard because then I would have to buy a new chipset and everything and THEN a new graphics card and that would rack up over $200.00 and I dont have the money right now.

At that my PC would probley not take high graphic games like that very easily.

I have been playing first person shooters since I was 5 or 6 years old. I started playing with Return To Castle Wolfenstien and I am the best at first person shooters as far as I know.

I need the fastest thing I can get right now.

What is the fastest card? FX5700?

What does the "LE" Mean? Is that slower? Do I get the 5600 instead?

What speed service are you using? Modem, DSL or cable? Most likely it isn't the grahics card, but I have been wrong before.

Yup, you're wasting your money. PCI graphics are outdated...manufacturer's have all but abandoned it. There are only a few viable cards left...the FX5200, FX5500, & FX5700 & none of them are really very good. It appears you have an HP so basically, you're screwed. Investing in more RAM would be better than wasting your money on a card that is only marginally better than the one you already have.

Do you know if your current card uses 64-bit or 128-bit memory? What video drivers are you using? When's the last time you did a through house-cleaning & defragged?

Battlefield 2 is one of those very new games which don't mind having 2GB of system memory. 512mb definitely doesn't cut it, and adding an extra 512 will give you a bigger performance boost than a 5700LE would.

Yeah, I have done a full house cleaning and I am going to re-format this weekend.

I orderd a 5700LE Tuesday and Added Priority mail to it. I hope it will clear things up definatly.

I am using a 5500 right now with the drivers up to date. I am using the latest direct X and my computer runs fast and smooth.

My internet connection is Charter Highspeed. 3Meg service. TRUST ME, I dont lag cause of connection. I made sure of that. :P

Ok, You say I need more Ram? Is that it?

I have 120$ left. I just spent $109.14 I had a budget of $210.00 To Spend.

I could not think up any better way, I thought of upgrading the mother board but then none of the chips on my old one would work with the new one. So I would have to wait LONGER to play the game at a smooth rate.

I have checked all over on the net. There is NO GAME FPS comparisons and no support on which graphics card is the fastest.

I will give a full report on that after I get my card. If it does not go faster, I am sending it back.

I bought it from a company that was selling it cheap. I saved alot of money.

From what I know, BattleField 2 requires 512MB to run right? So if I upgrade RAM then it will be faster?

I dont think my motherboard will allow any more than what I have right now. I can try though.

I am also buying a new MICRIPHONE for my pc so that I can talk perfectly on the field - BattleField 2 - I need that.

I can rig the setting of the graphics card NOT to run anti-Aliasing and Anastrophic filtering while playing the game. However I do that because the game itself does not have video settings for that.

Alright, the graphics card was out of stock so I had to order from a different company. I will tell you when I get it.
