Generic on board sound card

I just reinstalled windows and lost the drivers to my audio. I am having major problems trying to detect what kind of on board sound card I have to get new drivers.. Can anyone please help??

Go to the motherboard manufacturer's website, find your board (probably in the archives or discontinued section), then download the drivers from there. If no drivers are available, you should at least be able to identify what sound chip was used on the board. Do you happen to have the motherboard manual?

since it only took about thirty seconds it want a problem so if being helpless gives him a warm and cosy feeling then I don't have to much of a problem with that either.
