Generic HP laptop battery not good value & short life (Rant)

Specs: Windows 7, 1.60 GHz Intel Core i7-720QM Processor
In March 2011 I bought generic battery #95156103 from PCparts La Hambra CA which was 46.80 delivered, not very expensive compared to HP battery +$100 and worth less than I paid. Only 9 months old, for at least a couple months now, the computer has functioned and charged poorly, low battery life. This month it would not boot off the battery, and every time I unplug it to carry it from desk to den, it stops, giving multiple error messages. BEWARE, do not buy $40 laptop batteries, probably all made in same place in China. Rather than buy the +$100 HP 8 cell 5200 mAh OEM battery that came with the computer only made 13 months, just past warranty, I bought a Level 8 Technology 12 cell 7800 mAh battery for about $80 delivered. The computer booted off the new battery and is charging properly, time will tell. Right now I am much happier and will NEVER BUY a cheap PC battery again

What kind of warranty did the cheap one come with?

What makes you believe the Level 8 is any better?

I would have bought the HP. It had a warranty.

But there may be some truth to the story. The internet is full of bad people and products. Not easy to tell what is what. Many people may had good luck from both the types of products cheap and expensive.

1/3 of highway deaths are caused by drunks. The rest are by people who can't drive any better than a drunk.
