As you can make out of the title i've got a Geforce 2 grahpics card. And there seen to be a slight irritating problem. The memory of the card is 64 mb , but sometimes the memory it dislays is 16 mb. The speed of my pc playing games is very slow. I than have 2 uninstall the driver and reinstall them so the card has its 64 mb back. I've tried several of drivers but the problem remains. Does anyone know what i should do ? Thx in advance

hmmm buy a geforce 4 card mx or ti series...as for the problem...maybe the card does not support a version of direct X that you have or it may not be compatible with ME. for your specs your games should be blazin. cya

Heheh a Geforce 4 card costs money...I'm broke :)
The system ive got right now should be perfect for running games , but it isnt. Something wrong with the graphics driver and the memory usage. I've tried several version of directx. Directx 8.0 , 8.1 and i've installed drivers that suported directx but the problem remains.
Thx 4 ya awnser

I'm not sure what chipset you're using or if you built your own system, but make sure you have current chipset/AGP drivers for your motherboard. They can make a BIG difference in AGP performance and stability, as I know from experience. If you have an Intel chipset, then you're probably fine, but otherwise, you should check it out.

i have a p4, 1.7ghz, 256mb rdram...and my games are choppy. i think it's because i have a geforce2 mx 200 (agp 4x, 64mb)...i'm probably going to settle down and order a new card on sunday (been looking around for the last week :P)

The GF2 MX200 isn't the greatest but I wouldn't waste my money on a GF4 MX card as it really isn't much of an improvement. It's basically just a revamped GF2 card.
You didn't say waht motherboard or chipset, but I agree with Justin...make sure you have the latest chipset drivers. Possibly a BIOS update too?

It's a intel chipset , I've tried searching which bios version i was running but i can't seem to find it. The only thing i did find is Phoenix Bios 4.0 Release 6.0. The system is a Packard bell ixtreme 1,5 ghz.
How can i find my current bios version so i can update it ?

I've got the same problem... Geforce2 MX400, AMD Athlon 1200, MSI K7T266 Pro mainboard (VIA chipset), latest drivers (VIA 4in1, Detonator)... But unbearably slow (in both Windows 98 and Linux).
Even my old Geforce256 was faster!
Tried increasing AGP aparture size, enable AGP fast writes, etc, but didn't help.
Any ideas?
