hey guys, i just got a new cmputer from abspc.com, here are the specs:

gigabyte ga-8ipe1000pro
p4 2.8 800fsb
1024mb ddram
evga e-geforce fx5900 128mb

to test the new card out i downloaded the new battlefield 1942 demo and set it to 1024x768.. and i was pretty disappointed in the performance. i noticed that during movement in the game i would see lines from frame to frame (maybe about 6) horizontally along the scren, as if it was rebuilding the frames ununiformly, like the card is lagging even at 1024x768. 1600x1200 is anything but impressive. i expected a lot better performance with the card, any tips on how to maximize the performance, or why it is disappointing me? im probably not making any sense, but if you have any tips (like would reducing it to 16 bit color make a difference?) thanks in advance

Turn vertical-sync on, see if those lines still appear. Make sure to set your overide refresh rate setting to the max your monitor can handle for the given resolution.
