Hi,
I currently have a PNY Geforce FX5200 128mb video card but the fan got stuck and the card over heated and got damaged. So now I am looking for another card.
The two cards I have found that look good (and are in my price range) are the PNY Geforce FX5700LE Optima and the geforce 6200. I have looked at both and I noticed that the 6200 has the CineFX 3.0 Engine while the fx5700 has Cinefx 2. Also I can get the 6200 in either 128mb or 256mb for about the same price! But in the specs, although it doesn't have the newier technology such as the Cinefx 3 engine or Ultra shadow II tech, the fx5700 seems to be faster, am I right?
The downside to the fx5700 is that on PNY's website, they have it listed as Discontinued which would mean there is no warranty. It also has a fan that could go bad or get stuck and cause damage to the card from over heating. Whereas EVGA's Geforce 6200 only has a heatsink and not a fan.(plus a two year warranty) So which would be the better card to get? If I should get the 6200, should I get the 128mb or 256mb?Thanks for you help!
Jonathan

One thing I forgot to mention is that the FX5700 has 128bit memory while the 6200 has 64bit, does that make much difference?
Jonathan

In light of the memory difference (128-bit vs. 64-bit) you might want to opt for the FX5700 card. I am running an MSI GeForce FX5700 card, and it has performed very well. (BTW, just because the PNY card is listed as "discontinued" doesn't mean it has no warranty. If it's a new item it should still have a full factory warranty unless otherwise stipulated. Discontinued just means they will no longer manufacture and/or sell it.)
