Will this video card speed up my computer on flash sites? (eg YouTube). I have a RIVA TNT 16MB video card atm.

The FX is better than the TNT but I doubt it's gonna help you with YouTube. Your problem is more likely because you're running XP on a machine that's better suited for Win98. What type of internet connection do you have?

From my experience, Flash is very CPU intensive. At 1.2ghz on several video websites, my CPU is running at max speed already. Other websites that put anti-aliasing on Flash videos make it even worse. I think a CPU upgrade will make Flash videos play much faster.

Unfortunately, the GeForce FX won't add one iota of Flash performance to your system. Flash is entirely CPU-powered. It's also poorly optimized. What should be doable on a 400MHz processor requires 1GHz, and some of the really complex Flash "works of art" even push 3GHz (P4) CPUs to their limit. A GPU-accelerated Flash would be awesome.

-If the player allows you to watch Flash in Low Quality mode, do so. This really speeds things up on slower computers.

-Upgrade the CPU. If you have a 440BX or i810/815 board, you can throw in a much quicker Pentium III--which would have no problem playing YouTube vids.
