Specs: Win XP, 2.8 / 768
I went out and got a Geforce FX 5500 8x (AGP). I cant get a screen at all when I put the card in. Yes it's hooked up to the moniter, but the moniter is in stand-by mode and won't give me any kind of screen when I boot up. I even tryed to install the driver before installation of hardware... Any suggestions??

Do you have any error beeps? If so, check your MB manual or the support section of the site of your MB manufacturer. What was your old VGA? Are you able to boot at all (try your old/another VGA)? Is your Geforce FX 5500 8x (AGP) running on another PC? Have you unplugged the PC from the wall outlet before replacing the cards? Failure to do so is possible to damage the hardware. Drivers are nothing to do during the initial boot up, this is not the reason.

Unfortunately I didn't unplug the first time I installed it... Didn't have that knowlegde, but the old vga is intergrated. From what you wrote, I might just take it in and see if I had damaged it.
I don't have another agp compitible motherboard to test it on.
And lastly...No error beeps. It's like the computer is booting normally just with no visual aid :(

My Dell Suck Dude...........(not really)

the only options for the intergreted video are auto and onboard.. Is there something bad about Bios Ver. A09?? And for the first reply, the original vga was intergreted, Intel Extreme Graphics (82865G).
