i wanna upgrade my graphic card from TNT 2 to geforce FX5200.but My MOBO only support AGP 4x whereas FX5200 is AGP 8x.I have tried to put the FX 5200 into my MOBO,but it seems like not working.Do i need to uninstall the TNT 2 driver b4 i put in the FX 5200?or i need to change some setting on bios or the FX 5200 itself?

No. Not all 8x agp cards will work in 4x slot. Check the documentation you got with the card. There are different cards that use the fx5200 chip made by different manufacturers. Those that are backwards compatible seem to be priced about 1.5 times the 8X only cards. There is nothing you can do in bios to alter your AGP slot. A compatible card is required.

I just put a GeForce FX5200 in my computer and it only has an AGP 4X slot. Works great for what I want.

All 8x cards work in all 4x boards as long as the card is AGP 3.0 compliant, which I believe is the case for current 8x cards.
Please post a link to any 8x card that is 8x only.
