Hi, i posted a similar question on the gaming board but i post here in hope for more help. i plan to buy a geforce 6600gt AGP, which according to review articles, needs a 350 watt psu. i currently have a eMachines comp with: AMD Athlon XP 3000+ 2.1 ghz one 160gb hd 1 stick of 512 ddr ram cd-rw dvd rom au51 mobo with nforce2 chip 3 media readers (none connected) My PSU: Bestec ModeL: ATX-300-12E Rev: D Input: 100-127V-6A 300W Max 200-240V-3A 60/50Hz Output: +12v/15A +5v/30A +3.3v/28A -12v/0.8A +5VSB/2A +5V & +3.3V/180w Max +5V & +12v & +3.3V/288w Max (do i add the two wattages, 180w + 288w?) im on a tight budget (~$150, the card costs $149) and i'd rather go for another card that requires less power than buy a card AND a psu. ANY SUGGESTIONS?? (im planning on playing bf2 and other future games) Thanks in advance

This is just my opionion of course. But I think that PSU will probably work just fine. It is rated as a 300W PSU. Most guru types will tell you to look at the 12V rail to decide whether your PSU is up to snuff. Yours has 15A. The range of 350W PSU have 15-19A on the 12v rail(most at 15A). Therefore I would say getting a 350W PSU will benefit you nothing. On top of that you are running only 1 HDD and no lights or big CPU fans or 120MM case fans. I think you will be fine. As far as adding wattages, you would not do that. Yours is 300W and that's it. It runs 288W total with all rails pulling current and 180W with only the 5v and 3.3v rails pulling current (not accounting for whatever the 12v rail is using). I just bought a asus 66008X and my MOBO is a agp 4X but it shud still work but just not as good i fitted it in proporly and i turn on and this continius beeeeep sounds i put my old card bk in works fine i also bought 512meg of ram with it put that in works fine take the new ram out and put the new card in still dosent work plz plz plz can any one help thanks and i cant get in to the beos thing some one was talking about i restart and keep pressing del nothing happens i was told to change to 8X plz help Mike
