Hi, i have just upgraded my graphics card in my pc from the crappy intel extreme 2 graphics on my intel hazelton 865gv motherboard, with a Geforce 6200 128MB PCI (Not PCI Express) Graphics Card, i have noticed that games are much sharper and quicker. However i often get artifacts in Windows particularly on menus and even the orange banners at the side of this post. Also when i insert movies into powerpoint or try to edit or overclock the settings on the graphics card i get a windows bsod saying nv4_disp.dll i have tried using drivers on cd and latest nvidia forceware no luck any ideas i have also exchanged card once still no luck!
I Got A
Athlon 2200+
512MB PC133 SDRAM
80Gb Hard Drive
64MB Geforce 3 TI500
Syntax SV266A
2MBPS Broadband
Windows XP MCE 2005

Artifacts ussually mean bad cooling, the card has bad contact with the slot or the card it's self is damaged. Try re seating the card in the slot or even put it in a different slot. I'm not sure if the card you have would have a fan and heatsink or just a heatsink but if its is just a heatsink, run your system for a while and then lightly touch the heatsink. Its ok if it is warm but if it is hot (Uncomfortable to hold your finger on) you might need a fan for it. If none of that helps it is probably a bad card : (

Socket 7 is my bestest freind...

To begin with, the 6200 is not a good card. All of them that I've seen use 64-bit memory, which means they're not good for gaming. It's definitely a step up from the onboard, but you would have been better off getting an FX5500 128MB/128-bit card.
If you're getting an error related to nv4_disp.dll, you have a driver problem. Uninstall the driver by going to Control Panel > Add/Remove, then use Driver Cleaner Pro Free to make sure you've cleared it out completely:

Once you've done that, install this driver & make sure you follow the installation hints:
