Hi,
I want to get a new graphics card for my computer, and I finally decided to go for the gf4 ti 4200 after reading the reviews. I believe this is far better than the gfx 5200 card thats out, and it is also overclockable to be just as gud as the ti 4600.
Firstly, is this correct? and is it a gud choice considering I have a budget of around £90 GBP.
I can get the 64Mb version for aound 80, and the 128mb version for around 140, but thats a little out of my price range, so is there much difference in performance between the 64meg version and the 128? I was reading a review saying that the 128 is actually SLOWER????
Thanks for your opinions.

i have the 128 meg version and i too have read that the 64 meg version is slightly faster...that's all i know

I also have the 128mb 4200 and have heard nothing but good things about the 64mb 4200.
If you can't afford the 128mb now, the 64mb seems like a good choice. Just keep in mind that some games require 64mb video memory now. Games will probably require more in the near future.

The 64MB versions are faster on the AGP4x versions.
The AGP8x versions are clocked the same whether it be 64MB or 128MB.

Hey
Yeah, may have somthing to do with the core clock speed/ and bandwidth. May be higher on the 64mb models. Also it depends how much system ram you've got. U can adjust ur AGP Aperture which the GFX card will use. The higher system ram the better i'd say. As to wheather the fx5200s are better, well if ur looking for raw punch the 4200 out performs slightly, but if ur looking for a budget future proofer go for the fx5200 DDR. It's an excellant all round deal for your money with full DX9 support and pixel shader 2.0.ROss
