Comment: A simple question I'm sure...how many MB = GB?
I need to establish if a portable harddrive of 80GB would help my system perform and free up some of my C-drive? thanks! islandlover

Reply: (edit )1,000mb = 1GB
An external hard drive (by itself) will not improve performance. It will give you more storage space and flexibility. You can move some of your data to the external drive to free up the C: drive somewhat. Be aware that external drives are slower than internal.
