Hello all. I am having a problem with a Gateway Solo 2500 laptop I picked up in regards the the monitor when booting up. From time to time when turning the computer on the screen will appear half black (left side) and a dark red with a marble type pattern on the right side. It will do it at any time and does not seem to be affected by level of battery charge or plugged in vs battery. Sometimes it requires numerous reboots (control alt delete) or power cycling to get it to display the status while booting. This problem also occured once while flipping the screen down and then opening it back up after windows had fully booted up. Is the screen toast or is it more likely a video card / driver issue?(I don't have any driver disks for it or know what cards are in there) Thanks Josh

Hi! Can you let me know if you find a solutin to this problem? My Solo 2500 is having the EXACT same problem (minus the dark red color). It's also starting to randomly boot into VGA mode and I'm getting a bit of distortion on the screen. I'm about ready to throw it out the window!
