Comment:

I have a gateway mx3414 laptop. I've had no problems with it other than having to get the fan replaced. About 5 days ago it was freezing up. I turned it off using the power button, let it sit, and then turned it back on... but the screen was completely black with no sign of anything. I turned it off and on again in hopes that it would work, but this time instead of starting up and being black, it would flash like it was going to start up and then turn off (almost like the battery was dead, except it was plugged in). I tried doing this a number of times and finally after about 6 or 7 times it turned on. So, now I can only turn it on after I press the power button a number of times and even then the screen is still completely black. I have information on there that I need, so I tried to hook up my laptop to a moniter I have at my house with no success at all. I don't know what to do. Can someone please offer some sort of information!
