I have just aquired a Gateway Solo 2150 very cheaply because it doesnt work. The problem is when i plug the power into it and try to turn it on all i get is a flickering light on the power adapter and a kind of flickering noise coming from it. Nt knowing much about notebooks suspected the power supply but on further inspection realised the power supply is some hoe built into the motherboard. Before going out and buying a new motherboard i was just wondering if anyone out there has had a similair problem and know how to fix it.
If i need to buy a new mobo will any new mobo fit in it or just specific kinds. If so any recomendations??? doesnt need to be anything flash just anything over 400MHz or so.
Any response on this matter will be greatly appreciated.
