Ok, in less than 2 weeks I am going to acquire a large
amount of money (birthday and selling stuff). this sum will
be about $1400. if you dont think this is big, consider im
turning 14 years old. What system will give me the most
bang for my buck? ive already done a ittle research but i
wanted a little advice from the experts.Oh ya, I would use
it for gaming.

Not bad at 14 I wish I had that sort $ at 14...LOL
Lok for a motehr board which is allonf the lines of the ASUS A8N series, or ate least a borad that has the Nforce 4 chipset on it, in socket 939.
A good video card allong the lines of the GF6600GT
2 Modules of 512 meg of ram, Corsair value selct, or of money allows Geil GLK1gb3200CD.
At least a 80 Gig Or 120 Gig SATA hard drive.
A good quality case with at least 2 fans in it a good power supply, something not less than 420W.
A amd X64 socket 939 64 bit processor, allong the lines of xp300+ or 3200+
Than also have a good look at perhaps a good qlty aftermarket cpu cooler, if necessry.
But that would be your main parts to consider.
Work out what you would like than work out the cost and see how much you have left over, for things like DVD rom, keyboard monitor etc..
IF IT AINT BROKE, DONT FIX ITA8N-SLI Deluxe

Fatal1ty AN8 and the Fatal1ty AN8 - SLI
Fantastic board, comlex bios, and expensive, but fab board no doubt...
Another PSU you might want to consider is the OCZ Modwave, currently voted as the best psu on the market..
The Antec Trupower 2 seris are also top notch..
A high speed Western digital 10,000 rpm Raptor drive, would be an advantage..
And yes the Zalman series of coolers are fantastic in perfomance, but choose your board, cpu, ram, video card, case and power supply carefully..
IF IT AINT BROKE, DONT FIX IT

wow yeah i wish i had that much at 14...
as ^^^ said, a 10,000 rpm hard drive would be good, a powerful power supply not less then 450watts i think, and i personally dont trust AMD processor i have had three NEW ones fry on my within two weeks, so you should go with an Intel mobo with a Pentium 4 extreme addition at 3.0ghz or more, with HT technology, at least a 128mb AGP card, a 512mb PC3200 (x2), and a big hard drive

BFG 6800GT OC
That's the top dog according to the quick research I did (only $349 also!).
Then, I would likely get of course an AMD 64 processor.
I would also agree with above, a 10,000 rpm raptor drive.
