I'm looking for a mouse made for gaming. Not Just for myself but for a friend of mine who only has 1 arm. FPS pose a problem since het can't press wasd to move and so on. I have a Microsoft Explorer(optical) which has 5 100% programable buttons. Its alright for me but I am looking for better. I did find the Microsoft Strategic Commander which has 12buttons and from what I gather is a cross between a mouse and joystick. the "mouse" part slides along the top of a base. If anyone has it can it be used in stead of a mouse, outside of games? To navigate in Windows? If there is other options out there let me know. Thanks

ok. I just installed mine and it works..its for left hand only tho.
I had to install the accessability features which has an option to setup the number pad arrows to simulate a mouse. This is part of Windows
Next in Strategic Commander, I created a new profile dubbed windows and configured all the buttons on the strategic commander for: left, middle, and right mouse clicks; backspace, enter, and shift-backspace (useful when browsing to hot-key the forward button in internet explorer or netscape)
As for the pointer movement, I configured Strategic commander use numeric keypad arrows to move with. VIOLA
With what 18 programmable buttons, and a shortcut key (hotkey) for nearly everything in windows it'll do the job just fine...mouse pointer is slow BUT considering other options...
Oh, and buy one, if you do, with software included..it was a real pain finding software for this thing as its not 'supported' anymore..IMHO
Hope this helps
