-2.4ghz P4 533fsb -512Mb pc2700 DDR-Ram -Asus p4pe MB -Radeon 8500LECertain games will run for about 10-20 seconds and then crash to a black screen that has vertical lines of various colours. So far it has occurred in -Unreal Tournament2003(5second average) -Postal 2 (same) -C&C-Generals (about 10 minutes) Strangely i can run battefield 1942 perfectly for hours on end. Diablo 2 and half-life/DoD work fine. -I am running the current patches for all of these games, apart from postal2, which i could not find an update for! Tried various v-card drivers -Omega drivers (as of yesterday) -Current radeon drivers -2.4 radeon drivers have tried, directx 8/8.1/9 Reformatted this morning and installed win2k, same problem. i am not overclocking, ANY components of the system.

Are the 2 games your having problems with ,both EA games .I purchased an EA game , and I would have the same problem ,the game would keep listing my disabled onboard graphics as my prinmary display adapter, when I have it disabled,and my ATI RADEON as the secondary dispaly adapter, the game would simply not run .Yet I have Quake III Areana , Microsoft Flight Simulator 2002, and other graphic intense games that run with no problems. I have since returned the EA game Nascar Racing 2002. However I do have Medal of Honor Allied Assault installed and most of the time it works just fine , however its still the only game that once in awhile frezzes my system up .My system it nowhere as powerful as yours .What vesion of DirectX are you running .Check the recomended requirements on the games documentation !
