Hello everyone.

I need help with my recent issues on my graphics card.

When I play Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, everything related to the graphics works fine, even with the highest settings. However, when i turn on Anti Aliasing at even 2x, which is minimum anti aliasing, the graphic card just stops working. And the VPU Recover message says, the graphics card doesn't respond to the accelerator's command anymore(roughly translated) and this message pops up every 10 seconds (no exagerration) and i cant even play. also my graphics card overheats in about 50 seconds after the first time this message appears. So i've already tried cooling it and even at low temperature the problem still occurs. Please help!

My PC specs are:

ASUS M2N Motherboard
AMD Athlon 64X2 4600+ 2.4 GHz Processor (2 CPUs)
ASUS EAH3850 series video card
150GB HDD (108GB free space)

I played with the computer's case open and tried cooling my graphics card. The temperature was at about 47 C and the problem still occured. im not sure about other games. But when i first bought the card anti aliasing worked fine with some older games like call of duty 2 and 4. The problem occured first time when I started playing FarCry 2. im going to try turning on anti aliasing on Catalyst Control Center and also try my older games.
Oh, and I almost forgot. My graphics card's video memory is 512MB. Does this have anything to do with the anti aliasing problem?

What is the difference between turning on anti aliasing in the game options and in ATI control center?

No, no. Not all of my games crash when i turn on anti aliasing whether at ATI control center or in the game options. What I meant was, when i first bought the card, i didn't have such latest games like MW2 or left 4 dead 2. Anti aliasing worked with my older games and also works now.

I've tried turning on anti aliasing in the ATI Control Center, but it doesn't do the trick. The game starts crashing and when i quit the game, the windows desktop screen gets kind of weird. (This also happens when i turn on anti aliasing in the game options) It looks like as if graphics broke up. However, when i play left 4 dead 2 a similar problem occurs. The game will start and work with anti aliasing ON for about 7~8 minutes and the message will pop up, game will crash and I have to wait for 45 seconds to come back to my game. but the message will pop up again after about 2 minutes. i cant believe so many games crash when i turn on anti aliasing.
is this normal?
