so i wanna use my joystick that has that old joy plug. so i threw in my old 16pci sound blaster card just to use the gameport. when i got to the device manager it got a "!" by its and in properties it says:
This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use. (Code 12)
If you want to use this device, you will need to disable one of the other devices on this system.
i got my audigy that im usin as a soundcard...is this the conflict? is there drivers just for this gameport? i dont need those audioports just the game one. what do i do?

go to the device in device manager. go to properties and resources tab. are there any conflicts?

oh duh! you can try changing irq in pnp section of your bios

If you have any of the Abit guru motherboards you cannot use the gameport, as it conflicts with the guru feature. CHeck Abit site. I have the same problem. No resolution for it either. Not that I know of.

h, and I mean if you ADD a sound card with a gameport, because of coure the Guru motherboards have no gameport on them, for the reason I specified.
It's a royal pain in the ass.

i dont have an abit guru.
i moved the card lower one, i disabled the gameport feature on my audigy, i tryed taking my audigy out and it still keeps tellin me:
This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use. (Code 12)
on that irq on pnp thing...i selected manual and chose one of the pci choices to be "reserved". that didnt work either.
i tryed changing the resource setting through its properties but it says theres none available. what do i take one of things out and take its resource number?

if theres no solution to this..where can i get a 16pin ribbon gameport cable for my audigy so i can just use that?

Sound blaster audigy 2zs platinum works just fine on this abit board, including game port, it is eide.

yeah i know that..oil tan. the gameport on my audigy is conflict free..i just dont have the ribbon for it so i can hook it up to the back panel.
