i rlly doubt u have 2GB on the graphics card u must be confusing it with the total graphics memory shared with the ram....
from the looks of it u have an onboard graphics chip which is too weak to handle the game. it would help us to know IF u have a graphics card installed
and does this happen to other games new ones?
computers are a second home

The info you have provided so far is not good enough.

There are many XPS 15" laptop models - you may be quoting the video adapter specs for the wrong one !

Tell us your Service tag number - see response 2 !

"service tag no.85n9vq1"

When I search the Dell support site with the Service tag 85n9vq1

I get....

Drivers & Downloads for XPS 15 (L502X)
http://support.dell.com/support/dow...

Video

Your video adadter can be any of

Intel - HD 3000

or - nVidia - GeForce GT 540M

or - nVidia - GeForce GT 525M

I went here and supplied the Service tag number you provideed and got no results:
http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/...

That's on the US Dell site.

(Original) System Configuration for service tag no.85n9vq1
http://support.dell.com/support/top...

Excerpts:

"Ship Date: 8/9/2011"
"Country: India"

So it's a recent computer model, made this year.

PLEASE tell us when you DID NOT buy the computer in the US (or Canada) !
We assume that's where you bought the computer otherwise !

"1 KNTKT 2GB NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 540M graphics with Optimus "

Are you the original owner of the laptop ?
Has the original video card been changed ?

If you arewn't the original owner, and/or if you're not sure if the orginal video card has been chaned, click on the Current System Configuration tab on the above page.
.........

If you DO actually have the nVidia - GeForce GT 540M 2gb video card

- it should be listed in Device Manager under Display Adapters if it's drivers / software were installed properly

(click on Computer - select System Properties in the top bars - Device Manager is on the left to click on , on the resulting page)

There should be NO yellow ! (exclamation mark) or red X beside it's entry !

- if you have tried re-installing the drivers / software for the GeForce GT 540M 2gb video card, it's VERY common for people to NOT do that properly !
.......

If there's nothing wrong in Device Manager regarding the GeForce GT 540M 2gb video card ......

RIGHT click on a blank part of your main desktop screen, choose Personalize, then Dusplay Settings.

What does it say there ?

What monitor on what video adapter ?
.....

Do you have other third party (not included with Windows) video games installed ?

If yes, does the video work fine in those games ?

Apparently this laptop series has an oddball video adapter situation.

You could have found that out yourself if you had READ the MANUALS !

Manuals

(L502X)
Service Tag:
85N9VQ1

http://support.dell.com/support/top...

Click on the link - English - Setup Guide - View -

Page 56 (of the *.pdf) - NVIDIA Optimus Technology

Excerpts:

The NVIDIA GPU is turned on only for preset applications.....

The Optimus technology is enabled through an application profile. When an application is launched, the video drivers check if the application has an associated profile.

If an application profile does not exist, only the integrated GPU is used.
(Intel HD 3000)

The default list of application profiles is updated frequently by NVIDIA and is automatically downloaded when you are connected to the internet.

You can also create application profiles for any application on your computer. This may be required for newly released games or applications that do not have a default application profile.

Page 57 (of the *.pdf) - Changing the Application Profile Settings

(E.g. Make an application profile for the game.)
........

A poor choice option is to increase the amount of ram the onboard video is using.

Could you increase the amount of ram the onboard video is using (sharing)?
I don't know, but usually you can, in the bios Setup settings.
We usually cannot find enough specific detaIls about what you see in a brand name system's bios version in Setup. If that info isn't in the manuals for the model, then you'll have to determine that yourself. If the setting is available, it's presently set to 64mb and can be changed. It should never be set to more than half of the ram amount installed in the mboard. Use the lowest ram setting that provides the video performance you need, otherwise your Windows performance will not be as good as it could be.

"in application settngs wat settngs i hv to do for ruunning game smoothly.......????"

I don't know.
READ that manual I pointed to - try doing what it says on page 57 of the pdf !

If that doesn't help, search for info about that on the Dell site, in the support for your specific model, or elsewhere on the site, or on the web !

"plz tell me about how can i change my dedicated video memory ???there iz no any option in the bios setup.."

READ the last part of response 11 !
Usually there is NOT enough specific info about what is seen in a brand name system's bios version that we can refer you to !.
