Ok today i build a system. Its an GA-K8NSC Mobo w/ Athlon 64 3000+ w/ 1 GB of Dual Channel Ram.
Ok let me start out by saying that i took 2 HDD's (Maxtor 20GB, Western 120GB) out of an old computer and just stuck them in this new system. I did this because the old mobo went to hell. It boots up fine but when it comes to the Xp Pro loading picture it quickly goes to a blue screen, it only shows that blue screen for a split second then reboots. What the hell is causing this? I stuck in my Xp Pro disc and it wont show any options. i havnt touch the bois or anything like that. I just stuck in the HDDs and off i went, and here i am. Please help!!! HOW DO I FIX THIS!!!!

"What the hell is causing this?"
Here's your answer:
"i took 2 HDD's (Maxtor 20GB, Western 120GB) out of an old computer and just stuck them in this new system"
You can't just swap a HDD with XP already on it...it's configured for the old hardware. You either have to format & reinstall, or you can try doing a "repair install"
Here's another factor:
" i havnt touch the bois or anything like that"
The BIOS should be configured to match your hardware.

Thanks for the reply.
I understand now what i must do. But when i pop in the cd and reboot i hear the drive spining the cd but noting comes up, it continues to load windows. Ive got a dvd drive and a Cd-RW drive and ive tried them both but noting. My first boot option is CD-ROM but still noting! How do i get it to boot?????

You have to watch the screen...you'll be prompted to "press any key to boot from CD". If you don't press it in time, it will bypass the CD-ROM & try to boot off the HDD

I dont get any "press any key to boot from CD" option. I watch the screen from start to finish and it dosnt ask me to do that. What do i do!?!?!

Ok some how it kinda worked. It displays Boot from CD/DVD
Boot from CD/DVDNTLDR is missing
Press AlT+CTRL+DEl to restartIS NTLDR???? HELP ME!!!

Ok now this time i switched the HDD's around and changed jumpers. Now it will display
Boot from CD/DVD
Boot from CD/DVDThen it will go to the blue screen for a split second, then reboot. Man oh man is going on!!

Really sounds like a memory problem. Get on another computer, download Memtest86, and make a bootable floppy/CD out of it.

I dont think its a memory problem, i can stick in my norton disc and it will read it and ask for Boot from HDD or Boot from CD tried both but noting. Maybe its my XP CD??? I stick it in my laptop and it reads the XP cd. !!
