I have a self built system with following specs
AMD 1900+
GA-7vrxp
512 DDR

it just happened that my system is not booting up anymore. I had a bad cpu fan, which made me beleive that CPU is burnt, i replaced it with new 2100+. nothing happens

only teh fans crank for .5 secs and that memory led lights on in orange/red. thats it.

i have tested by removing all the and cards memory sticks. havent tested the PSU yet.

also i dont know how to reset the bios while the system is not running. tried resetting cmos and took out the battery too for good an hour...
please help if anyone can?

Bad power supply! I love the gigabyte boards and can tell you from personal experience with this model that it does not like any thing less then 350 watt power supply.

Hey, I have that same problem, where my computer won't boot up. The fans turn on, and a red LED light turns on, on the motherboard, but nothing happens on the monitor. I have a different motherboard tho (EPOX 8kha+ w/ amd xp 1800 and 512mb ddr). Is it possible that all I need is a new power supply as well, considering all I use now is 250 watt ATX one?

possible (250 watt with xp1800) should have at least min 300watt for that board. I only install 350watt on 1600xp on up as a min.
If the fans are turning on and psu is turning on then you have either a cpu that is not seated correctly or bad or memory is bad.
