Comment:

I recently aquired a Toshiba Satellite 210CS Laptop. Upon starting windows i notice that it won't display windows on the full screen.

Windows has a 1 inch border completely around it. Other then that it works fine I guess besides it needs a full cleanin of spyware/ excess programs.

Any ideas how to make use of the screen in full?

Thanks

Chad

it sounds like the computer is displaying 640X480 when it was designed for 800X600. you should change the resolution. if you cannot change resolution then you need a new video driver.

Does anyone know of any windows 98 drivers for this toshiba? I went to the toshiba support and they only go up to windows 95.

It won't let me choose anything more then 640x480 x 16 colors.

Also to be even more confusing it has 2 display adapters listed:

Chips & Tech. Accelerator !

and Chips & Tech. Super VGA

Not to mention two Keyboards listed. one also with a !

Here's my update, I finally disabled the Chips & Tech. Super VGA which allowed the Accelerator one to work thus allowing me to change the video resolution. It is set at 16bit 800x600 and working fine.

I also disabled one of the keyboards which in turn removed the other and left me with one keyboard in device manager with a red X. But the keyboard still works so Oh well.
