My computer recently started freezing for no reason!! I have not made any changes to anything nor have I installed any new programs. I can be moving the mouse across the screen and it will freeze. The duration of the freezes ranges from a few seconds to several minutes. Could this mean impending hardware failure?

One thing to check is your CPU fan. Make sure it's running at full speed and not stopping intermittently.

The CPU fan is always running but I dont know if it is runing at full speed. According to speed fan it varies between 5200 and 5600 RPM's. The temperature stays in the ballpark of 45-53 degrees C.
