Specs: Windows XP
Hello,

I was wondering if the Gateway GT5404 has problems with the hard drive. My computer will freeze up and then if the cursor stops moving, my computer will make a steady high pitched noise. I have checked for viruses using SuperAntiSpyware and AVG Anti-Virus. I also downgraded to XP home last year. Thank you for any feedback!!

The noise you have described seems to be indicating RAM Memory problems....

You should try reseating the RAM Memory before complicating the things up...

Probfixer! Thank you for responding so quickly!! ;)) I will try that in the morning. It does sound like a very logical solution. If I click on file in microsoft word, my options will sometimes fade. Will reseating my ram memory also help visual memory too? Thanks!
