hi all

i've just got a new pc and bought a new sata hard drive also to go alog with the one that came with the new pc. Installed the new hdd without problems but when i went into Computer managment and made the partition and formatted the new hard drive its turned into a simple volume and a Dynamic disk.

both hdd in the pc are Sata

when i've done all this before installing a new hard drive even though it was a IDE one the hard drive turned into a basic drive and a Primary Partition.

is there a way i can make my new hard drive into a Basic drive and a Primary Partition just like the other drive??????

Thnaks for any help

(sorry if its not that clear)

Open Disc Management, right-click the dynamic disk you want to change back to a basic disk, and then click Revert To Basic Disk.

Note: you must remove all volumes from the dynamic disk before you can change it back to a basic disk.
