I formated a hard drive and i lost about 3/4 of the space that i had. it is a 320GB hard drive and after i formatted it, it only has roughly 96GB. is there a way to get back all the space i lost?

You can only format what is already partitioned. That said, it seems like Vista has problems prepping hard drives.

I suggest you download the drive prep tools for your brand drive from the manufacturer and use them to prep the drive.
