i am buying a new power supply for my comp. the specs for the case say its form factor is a "Tower", but when i look at power supplies, i cant find any ones that say they fit in a "tower". Im really lost here please help!

This is kind of misleading, in a way. The 'form factor' is the size/shape of the power supply. But, the PS that fits in a tower will also fit in a desktop case. Some of the smaller desktop cases (Baby AT) may have a slightly smaller PS, but I believe that they would fit in a tower. The tower will usually need more power (the Watts rating) but that shouldn't affect the size or 'Form Factor'. If it's sold as an ATX power supply, it will probably fit in your case. Check all the specifications, just to be sure it isn't some custom design, etc.

If it has an ATX PSU in it now, that is what you need. There is ATX and AT PSU's. AT is old stuff.
