For those with Dell Laptops that Hibernate

Specs: Windows 7
I have a Dell that kept on Hibernating and nothing I did would resolve the problem. I drove me up the wall and no one could provide an answer to solve my problem. I even disable hibernation mode, reinstall Win 7 ect but then I discovered what the cause was.
I wear a copper bangle to help arthritis. Built in are 2 very small magnets and each time my wrist passed over the edge where the hard drive was housed the computer went into hibernation. Now each time I use my laptop I remove the bangle and my Laptop has never hibernated since. So if you wear such a bangle and have problems like I did, remove the bangle.

I wonder if that would work on my wife?

Just FYI, it has nothing to do with the hard drive, it's how the laptop senses that the lid is closed. The lid has a small magnet in it, inside the laptop there is a reed switch. When the lid closes, the magnet triggers the reed switch and the laptop goes into hibernate mode.
