floppy isnt working

CPU/Ram: PIII 700 / 386mb sdram

despite my floppy drive appearing in device manager as working fine it doesnt work

ive had this problem ever since installing a new motherboard

Check the cable connection and make sure that you have the floppy A: 1.44MB showing in the setup of your BIOS.

The floppy should be installed on the end connector. The center connector is for drive B:

try removeing floppy from device manager and reboot.
