My floppy drive wasnt working so I bought a new floppy drive. But I think there is another problem, from the mother board or the cables..... when I turn on the computer, the floppy drive's light is constantly on, and during the boot up it gives me a "floppy drive failure" error.

Check to make sure you have the flat cable plugged in the right way. I think the edge with the red or dark stripe(Pin 1)goes next to the power plug. Also check the motherboard end to make sure the striped edge is plugged into pin 1 side of the plug.

I take on board what you stated earlier, but please try reversing the flat grey cable.
The constant fdd light on, is a sign that the flat cable has been wrongly connected. Do this with the pc *SWITCHED OFF*. No harm is done when the cable is reversed.
