floppy drive not responding

my floppy drive isn't responding. when i start my computer, the light doesn't blink. i have the cable plugged in from the motherboard to the floppy drive. i'm not sure if i need anything else plugged into it :\ please help.

Check the power connection at the floppy. It's easy to slide the connector over the wrong pins.

Check in device manager for the floppy controller. Check properties, should say "this device is working properly". Check the cables, and power connector to the floppy. Boot into the BIOS and make sure the 1.44MB Floppy A is shown. If so, and it still is not working, I would remove the floppy controller thru device manager, reboot, and let windows re-install it. If still no go, you either have a bad power lead to drive, a bad cable, or a bad floppy drive.

i fixed it, i didn't have the power cord plugged in. its easy to slide off i guess :\
