floppy controller problems

sometimes when i want to read from the floppy drive my computer hangs, always when i try to format a floppy; the computer restarts, when i do the format in DOS, it freezes just after "Format completed"...
-i change the floppy drive and i have the same problems
-i take a devices out, just leaving the motherboard and the floppy drive, i have same problems.
any ideas???

Hi, No drivers need be loaded. You have either a bad Floppy drive, controller or just a bad floppy disk. Jim

im sure it is the controller, im gonna try and disable the DMA to see if that works
