I have tried (unsuccesfuly) to run a new Acer 2016W flat panel monitor on two of my laptops. Both are Dell laptops and one is running on Widows 2000 and the newest is running Windows XP.Both are in docking stations. The Acer monitor distorts the picture horizontally. It seems to widen it to fill the wide screen I'm using a ATI Mobility Radeon 9000 graphics card.I have installed all programs that where on the Acer CD. I have gone to the Radeon, Acer web site and downloaded the latest drivers.I have tried all resolution settings using the control panel/display/settings, etc. Is it possible that I can not operate a WIDE flat panel with this configuration of laptop and graphics card?? Thankyou for any help---I'm a new forum member.

I can't definatively state if the issue is due to being a laptop but you should be able to correctly set the resolution. Is the correct resolution not offered?

Try ATI's website for the most recent compatible drivers...hopefully they will include the needed resolutions.
