Hi
I am having a COBY 128 MB Flash USB Disk and it is also an MP3 player and recorder. Till recently whichever programmes i recorded was showing in the directory as Rec01, Rec02.wav etc. now for the past two days though the file is available in the USB Disk it is not showing in the XP Directory Structure. Pls help me

If you mean you can see the USB flash drive but not all the files on it....
Whenever you plug in a USB flash device, you get an icon with a green arrow in your taskbar. That icon may be seen only when you click on the < arrow in your taskbar to reveal it if it has been plugged in for a while. When you place your cursor over it, it says Safely Remove Hardware. You are supposed to click on that every time you want to remove the USB flash device to stop accessing it whenever you want to remove it when the computer is running. If you have neglected to do that at any time, you have probably damaged the data on the drive.
If you mean you cannot see the flash drive at all, or in any case, try plugging it into another USB port - sometimes such a device cannot be seen, or cannot be seen properly, if you plug it into a case port that has inadequate wiring, or a port in a USB hub that plugs into only one port connected to your mboard.

I have not damaged the data as i can see the files in the USB drive whereas i cant see them in the computer.
The files are available in the USB Flash MP3 player as i can replay the files in the USB Player. I need them on my computer so that i can edit those audio recording files. I remove through Safely Remove Hardware only.Pls help me.

Then
- try another USB port, as above
- once the USB drive has been plugged in, try closing My Computer or Windows Explorer, then going into it again. What happens when I plug in a USB flash drive in XP while the computer is running and Windows is fully loaded is I either get a window pop up that asks what do I want to open it with, or it automatically shows me the contents of the drive, or at least the folders, on the drive.
Is that happening for you?
